API - 653 Inspection
The American Petroleum Institute (API) 653 standard Covers the maintenance, inspection, alteration and repair of steel, field-erected aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) built to API 650 or API 12C standards. The inspection program examines four main tank components: the roof and it structure, shell, bottom and the tank foundation. These components directly affect the tank’s structural integrity and liquid storage capability.
